A leftist take on politics

, 2 June 2010

The word socialism itself is often shrouded in an absolute tingling mystery. One can think of Karl Marx and his best mate Friedrich Engles in coming up with the most influential of all socialist theories -- Marxism. Or one can even think of prolific leftist such as Leon Trotsky, Vladimir Lenin, Lev Kamenev and the demure Rosa Luxemburg, all of which championed the very fundamentals of socialism. They, quite proactively and aggressively so, spread the word that privately owned means of production or capitalism if you must runs on exploitation which further churns out wealth benefiting a rather small and segmented group of people thus creating an unequal society. To make things sweet and simple sans jargons and terminologies, it makes the rich richer and the poor poorer.

Klik4malaysia caught up with Dr. Mohd Nasir Hashim, the Chairman of PSM to get a taste of his left views. Dr. Nasir was one of the pioneers in the left movement, starting off with the Malaysian Peoples Socialist Party (PSRM) but left the very moment the word 'socialist' was stripped off PSRM.
